Dr. Alptekin Altun began his professional career in November 2011 with the opening of the first branch of Uzman Akademi Oral and Dental Health Polyclinic in Bahçelievler. This location had previously served as a hospital, medical center, and finally a dental clinic, carrying a 21-year medical background. Dr. Altun is the co-founder and managing director of these clinics.

During the same period, he also completed his education at Anadolu University, Faculty of Business Administration, which contributed significantly to his understanding of general business principles, market conditions, and investment strategies.

The second branch of Uzman Akademi was established in Yenibosna/Bahçelievler in March 2013 and continues its operations successfully. Due to its proximity to the airport, this clinic has become a preferred destination especially for international patients. Another branch of Uzman Akademi opened within Istanbul Şafak Hospital in Gaziosmanpaşa.

Uzman Akademi Dental Group aims to expand its service network by opening branches in key locations across Istanbul. In line with this goal, they established a modern, innovative clinic equipped with advanced technology in Bakırköy, Istanbul. Today, the group continues its services with nearly 20 dentists and specialist doctors and up to 50 support staff.

The institution continues its work in accordance with scientific standards, with the awareness that even the smallest dental treatment can significantly affect a patient’s smile. Dr. Alptekin Altun spends most of his professional time at the clinic, and during the remaining time, he provides consultation to other dentists.

He also serves as a scientific consultant for the Austrian company W&H, and as a consultant surgeon for the German NDI Implant Systems. For this reason, he frequently attends international conferences and seminars to closely follow new techniques and advanced technologies in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Alptekin Altun was born in 1984 in Dursunbey, Balıkesir. He completed his early education in Dursunbey and graduated from Balıkesir Sırrı Yırcalı Anatolian High School. He began his university studies at Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry and successfully completed the 5-year dental education program. In the year he graduated (2009), he qualified to pursue a PhD in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Marmara University.

In the early years of his doctoral studies (2011), he co-founded Uzman Akademi Oral and Dental Health Clinic in Bahçelievler together with his colleagues. While continuing his doctoral education, he simultaneously completed a second degree at Anadolu University, Faculty of Business Administration, graduating successfully.

In 2013, he and his team established the second branch of Uzman Akademi Oral and Dental Health Clinic in Yenibosna/Bahçelievler. In 2014, he founded the Dental Clinic within Istanbul Şafak Hospital. Towards the end of 2014, with his father Mehmet Altun joining the clinic as an administrator, they expanded their vision and mission, becoming a larger and more structured dental group.

In 2015, he became a scientific consultant for W&H Dental Equipment Company and organized professional training courses. In 2016, they opened the Bakırköy branch of Uzman Akademi Oral and Dental Health Group. In the same year, he became the scientific consultant and education director of NDI Medical Implant Systems.

Dr. Alptekin Altun has publications and presentations in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and his doctoral research focused on TMJ (temporomandibular joint) and dental volumetric tomography. Since September 2018, he has been continuing his academic career as an Assistant Professor at Adakent University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Since June 2018, he has also been working as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at SmartDent Academy.

Dr. Alptekin Altun is married and a father of two children.
